1. GENESIS – Create. Is. 45. 7.

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, Gn. 2. 4.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Gn. 1. 1.–So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Gn. 1. 27.–These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens. Gn. 2. 4.–And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.. Gn. 6. 7.–Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it. Gn. 45. 8.


God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Gn. 1. 21.–The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. – Gn. 24. 7.


God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Gn. 1. 25.–And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. – Gn. 15. 5.   


To rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. Gn. 1. 18.–And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. – Gn. 1. 8.


The earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Gn. 1. 12.–The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; – Gn. 8. 2.


And God saw the light, that it was good. Gn. 1. 4.–And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; – Gn. 26. 4.


God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. Gn. 1. 10.–In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. – Gn. 1. 1.



[7] If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. Gn. 4.

[5] And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Gn. 6.

[8] And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. Gn. 2.

[2] Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. Gn. 5.

[4] These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, Gn. 2.

2. EXODUS – Manifest. 1 Cor. 4. 5.

Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Mt. 18. 18.


And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same. Ex. 25. 31.–And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side: Ex. 25. 32.–It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. Ex. 34. 17.–Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest. Ex. 34. 21.–Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. Ex. 34. 7.


And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: Ex. 14. 15.– It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. Ex. 31. 17


And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. Ex. 26. 33.–And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field: – Ex. 10. 5.


And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide. Ex. 21. 35.–And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt. – Ex. 8. 17.


The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. Ex. 15. 9.–And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth. – Ex. 8. 22.


And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. Ex. 14. 21.–Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: – Ex. 20. 4.


But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. Ex. 14. 16.–For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. – Ex. 20. 11.

(7) Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Ex. 20.         

(5) And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Ex. 3.    

(8) And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea. Ex. 15.

(4) And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. Ex. 3.   

(1) If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. Ex. 22.

 
3. LEVETICUS – Endureth. Mt. 10. 22.

The mountains saw thee, and they trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered his voice, and lifted up his hands on high. Hb. 3. 10.


If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering. Lv. 4. 3.–Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. Lv. 24. 8.–Every male among the priests shall eat thereof: it shall be eaten in the holy place: it is most holy. Lv. 7. 6..–Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. Lv. 12. 5.– Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins. Lv. 26. 28.


This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: – Lv. 11. 46.


And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: – Lv. 11. 10.


These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. – Lv. 11. 9.


And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity. – Lv. 5. 1.


And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth. – Lv. 26. 36.


Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. – Lv. 25. 9.

 

(7) Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. Lv. 20.

(8) Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Lv. 19.

(2) Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them: Lv. 4.

(4) Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God. Lv. 19.

[5] But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days. Lv. 12.

[1] Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God. Lv. 26.


    


 
4. NUMBERS – Ignorance. Nm. 15.29.

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. Is. 11. 9.


And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance. Nm. 15. 26.–Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead: Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell. Nm. 5. 2, 3.–And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him. Nm. 15. 28.–I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God. Nm. 15. 41.–Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the LORD, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner, and one kid of the goats for a sin offering. Nm. 15. 24.


And they departed from the mountains of Abarim, and pitched in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho. – Nm. 33. 48.


And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel. – Nm. 23. 7.


The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. – Nm. 13. 29.


He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted. – Nm. 24. 7.


As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river's side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters. – Nm. 24. 6.


Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king's high way, until we be past thy borders. – Nm. 21. 22.


(5) And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. Nm. 21.

(8) And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you. Nm. 9.

(2) Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD: Nm. 6.

(1) And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood. Nm. 18.     

[7] Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. Nm. 21.

[4] And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers. Nm. 1.


     


 

5. DEUTERONOMY – Wait. Jb. 14. 14.


Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. Ps. 148. 4.

And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. Dt. 8. 3. –Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Dt. 5. 8.–For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever. Dt. 32. 40.–Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. Dt. 5. 32.–But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities: Dt. 19. 11.

These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat: – Dt. 14. 9.

Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: – Dt. 5. 8.

Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire. – Dt. 4. 36.

And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness. – Dt. 4. 11.

6. JOSHUA – Conflict. Col. 2. 1.

Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Dt. 5. 8.

Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. Jos. 24. 14.–And all Israel, and their elders, and officers, and their judges, stood on this side the ark and on that side before the priests the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, as well the stranger, as he that was born among them; half of them over against mount Gerizim, and half of them over against mount Ebal; as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should bless the people of Israel. Jos. 8. 33.

And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. – Jos. 2. 11.

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. – Jos. 10. 13.

And when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to flee this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers. – Jos. 8. 20.

And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel. – Jos. 5. 1.

Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for
a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever. – Jos. 4. 7.

And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap. – Jos. 3. 13.

(2) Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a manJos. 4.

(1) Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. Jos. 6.

[7] Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. Jos. 1.    

[5] There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Jos. 1. 

[8] Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God. Jos. 14.

[4] Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man: Jos. 4.

 

7. JUDGES – Lead. Ps. 5. 8.

To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. Ps. 136. 6.

And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. Jgs. 2. 10.–And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude. Jgs. 7. 12.–And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go. Jgs. 4. 8.–Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand. Jgs. 12. 6.–Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam. Jgs. 5. 12.

When ye go, ye shall come unto a people secure, and to a large land: for God hath given it into your hands; a place where there is no want of any thing that is in the earth. – Jgs. 18. 10.

Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. – Jgs. 6. 37.

LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water. – Jgs. 5. 4.

But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day. – Jgs. 15. 19.

They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages
in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates. – Jgs. 5. 11.

And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs. – Jgs. 1. 15.

(7) And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel. Jgs. 2.   

(5) And they said unto him, Ask counsel, we pray thee, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous. Jgs. 18.

(8) And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house. Jgs. 20. 

(2) Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, either that all the sons of Jerubbaal, which are threescore and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? remember also that I am your bone and your flesh. Jgs. 9.

(1) Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, with the land of Gilead, unto the LORD in Mizpeh. Jgs. 20.

8. RUTH – Hold. Jb. 13. 19.

And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. Gn. 6. 17.

And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Ru. 1. 16.–Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a testimony in Israel. Ru. 4. 7.–The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust. Ru. 2. 12.–And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it. Ru. 4. 4.

Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a
testimony in Israel. – Ru. 4. 7.

And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it. – Ru. 4. 4.

And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law. – Ru. 3. 17.

The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust. – Ru. 2. 12.

Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn. – Ru. 2. 9.

Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. – Ru. 1. 17.

(2) And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter. Ru. 2.   

(4) And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it. Ru. 4. 

(1) And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz. Ru. 2.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Mt. 13. 47.

For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. 2 Sm. 22. 29.And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee. 2 Sm. 7. 3.–And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said. 2 Sm. 7. 25.–God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. 2 Sm. 22. 33.–And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. 2 Sm. 12. 13.–The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain. Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow. 2 Sm. 23. 3_5.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet. – 2 Sm. 22. 10.

And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night. – 2 Sm. 21. 10.

And Absalom met the servants of David. And Absalom rode upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away. – 2 Sm. 18. 9.

And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils. – 2 Sm. 22. 16.

Therefore I counsel that all Israel be generally gathered unto thee, from Dan even to Beersheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that thou go to battle in thine own person. – 2 Sm. 17. 11.

11. I KINGS – Establish. Rom. 10.3.



Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee. Neh. 9. 6.


And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to thy saying, I am thine, and all that I have. 1 Kgs. 20. 4.–And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kgs. 19. 12.–And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together. 1 Kgs. 5. 12.–And he said, Whether they be come out for peace, take them alive; or whether they be come out for war, take them alive. 1 Kgs. 20. 18.–Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name. 1 Kgs. 8. 19.–The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third. 1 Kgs. 6. 8.–And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre. He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work. 1 Kgs. 7. 13_14.


And Solomon said, If he will shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die. – 1 Kgs. 1. 52.


I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man; – 1 Kgs. 2. 2.

 

And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them. – 1 Kgs. 1. 40.


When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them: – 1 Kgs. 8. 35.


Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness. – 1 Kgs. 8. 32.

 

But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? – 1 Kgs. 8. 27.


(7) And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building. 1 Kgs. 6.

12. II KINGS – Stop. Ps. 107. 42.

Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else. Dt. 4. 39.


Now therefore thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed. 2 Kgs. 1. 3.–But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin. 2 Kgs. 14. 6.–And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burnt he with fire. 2 Kgs. 25. 9.


And the LORD said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash. – 2 Kgs. 14. 27.


Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine

eyes, but shalt not eat thereof. – 2 Kgs. 7. 2.


And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. – 2 Kgs. 1. 12.


Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only. 2 Kgs. 19. 19.


-5- And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth. – 2 Kgs. 19. 15.


Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah. – 2 Kgs. 10. 10.


(2) And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left. 2 Kgs. 22.

(4) And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD, 2 Kgs. 12.

[7] And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me. 2 Kgs. 5.

[5] And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD: and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house, 2 Kgs. 22.

[8] And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.2 Kgs. 2.


 
13. I CHRONICLES – Gather. Gn. 49. 2.

And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: Acts 2. 19.

And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise. 1 Chr. 16. 35.–And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us: 1 Chr. 13. 2.–And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God. 1 Chr. 22. 2.–And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul. 1 Chr. 13. 3.

Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. – 1 Chr. 29. 11.


Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth. – 1 Chr. 16. 31.


For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. – 1 Chr. 16. 26.


And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire. – 1 Chr. 14. 12.


And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering. – 1

And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the LORD in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order. – 1 Chr. 6. 32.

Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up. 2 Chr. 36. 23.–And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper. 2 Chr. 26. 5.–And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz. 2 Chr. 3. 17.–Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign. 2 Chr. 3. 1_2.–Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit. 2 Chr. 20. 11.

And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof. – 2 Chr. 36. 19.


And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. – 2 Chr. 33. 6.


Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. – 2 Chr. 7. 1.


Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up. – 2 Chr. 36. 23.


Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven. – 2 Chr. 30. 27.


Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left. – 2 Chr. 18. 18.


(5) And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods. 2 Chr. 2.

[7] Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts. 2 Chr. 19.

For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem. Ezr 9. 9.–For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments. Ezr. 7. 10.–And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD; the vessels are holy also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers. Ezr. 8. 28.–Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it. And thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and build the house that was builded these many years ago, which a great king of Israel builded and set up. – Ezr. 5. 11.

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: Ex. 19. 5.

Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. Neh. 8. 10.–Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off. Neh. 12. 43.–Then brought all Judah the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries. Neh. 13. 12.–Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise. Neh. 5. 12.

In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us. – Neh. 9. 20.

Then stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cried with a loud voice unto the LORD their God. – Neh. 9. 4.

For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me. – Neh, 4. 18.

Then brought all Judah the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries. – Neh. 13. 12.

Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off. – Neh. 12. 43.

Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth. – Neh. 5. 3.

(7)  And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel. Neh. 8.
(5) And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders. Neh. 4.
(2) And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers. Neh. 9.
(4) And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, Neh. 1.
(1) And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel. Neh. 8.

O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour: Dn. 5. 18.–Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. Dn. 10. 12.–I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter. Dn. 2. 23.–But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Dn. 11. 38.

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. – Dn. 2. 44.

Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. – Dn. 2. 37.

Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. – Dn. 2. 19.

Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice. – Dn. 9. 14.

Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. – Dn. 9. 10.

While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. – Dn. 4. 31.

[7] O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee. For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone. Jer. 9. 10.


I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city. They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west. Hos. 11. 9_10.–And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth; Hos. 2. 21.–The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred. Hos. 9. 7.–Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Hos. 10. 12.

They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery. – Hos. 4. 13.


And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely. – Hos. 2. 18.

34. ZEPHANIAH – Exalt. 1 Pt. 5. 6.



And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. Lk. 3. 22.


The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zep. 3. 17.–Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger. Zep. 2. 3.–For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent. Zep. 3. 9.


She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God. – Zep. 3. 2.


And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in

the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work. – Zep. 2. 14.


The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. – Zep. 1. 14.


Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger. – Zep. 2. 3.


And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham; – Zep. 1.  5.


I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD. – Zep. 1. 3.


(7) Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests. Zep. 1.

(5) The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame. Zep. 3.

[8] Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. Zep. 3.

[2] She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God. Zep. 3.

[4]Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law. Zep. 3.

35. HAGGAI – Move. Acts 17. 28.

I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? Lk. 12. 49.


And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands. Ghg. 1. 11.–Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built. Ghg. 1. 2.–Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Ghg. 1. 6.–And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD: Ghg. 2. 15.–For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. Ghg. 2. 6_7.


Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD'S temple was laid, consider it. – Ghg. 2. 18.


And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD: – Ghg. 2. 15.


Then spake Haggai the LORD'S messenger in the LORD'S message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD. – Ghg. 1. 13.


Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth; – Ghg. 2. 21.

(1) In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying, Ghg. 2.

[7] And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. Ghg. 2.

[8] Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD. Ghg. 1.






 
36. ZECHARIAH – Darken. Am. 8. 9.

And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. Rv. 20. 9.

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Zec. 4. 6.–Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD. Zec. 1. 3_4.–And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. Zec. 14. 8.–And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. Zec. 12. 6_7.

And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth. –

And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth. – Zec. 6. 5.

And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth. – Zec. 1. 10.

In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left:
and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem. – Zec. 12. 6.

And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? – Zec. 3. 2.

For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her. – Zec. 2. 5.

(7) But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. Zec. 14.

(5) And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth. Zec. 6.

(8) And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness. Zec. 8.

(4) And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. Zec. 3.

[2] The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers. Zec. 1.

[1] The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Zec. 12.

But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them. Ez. 19. 12.


Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. Mal. 3. 1.–Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers? Mal. 2. 10.–Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. Mal. 3. 18.–The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity. Mal. 2. 6.

And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. – Mal. 2. 15.


Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers? – Mal. 2. 10.


The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity. – Mal. 2. 6.


But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: – Mal. 3. 2.


Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand. – Mal. 1. 10.


(8) But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts. Mal. 2.

(4) Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Mal. 4.

[7] Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? Mal. 3.

[5]And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel. Mal. 1.

[2] But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Mal. 4.

 38. MATTHEW – Oppose. 2 Tm. 2. 25.


And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. Rv. 15. 2.


But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Mt. 5. 44.–But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Mt. 4. 4.–Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Mt. 5. 23_24.–But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. Mt. 5. 37. 24.–Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. Mt. 25. 1.–And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Mt. 19. 28.


And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. – Mt. 18. 9.


Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting

fire. – Mt. 18. 8.


I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: – Mt. 3. 11.


Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. – Mt. 21. 21.


But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. – Mt. 18. 6.


Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: – Mt. 13. 47.

(5) For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? Mt. 9.

(2) And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Mt. 25.

[7] And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. Mt. 8.

[8] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Mt. 7.

[4] Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Mt. 18.

I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee. Ez. 32. 6.

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. Mk. 10. 27.–But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. Mk. 10. 6_8.–And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? Mk. 3. 21_23.

And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. – Mk. 9. 22.


And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: – Mk. 1. 10.

And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead. – Mk. 9. 9.


And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. – Mk. 9. 2.


(7) And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; Mk. 6.

(8) And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. Mk. 10.

[4) John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Mk. 1.

(1) And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of  God come with power. Mk. 9.

[5] When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. Mk. 2.

 40. LUKE – Relieve. Lam. 1. 11.


The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters. Ps. 29. 3.

Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Lk. 17. 21.–But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Lk. 12. 31.–The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master. Lk. 6. 40.–Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. Lk. 17. 30.–The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Lk. 4. 18.

And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. – Lk. 23. 46.

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, – Lk. 17. 15.

And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. – Lk. 9. 35.

And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him. – Lk. 8. 25.


And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. – Lk. 8. 24.

John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: – Lk. 3. 16.

(7) I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Lk. 15.

(5) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Lk. 13.

(2) And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, Lk. 8.

(1) Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. Lk. 9.

[8] And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. Lk. 21.

[4] And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Lk. 4.






41. JOHN – Decrease. Jn. 3. 30.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Ps. 46. 2.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Jn. 15. 5.–And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Jn. 1. 14.–And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. Jn. 8. 23.–Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Jn. 3. 5_6.–For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jn. 3. 16.

When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. – Jn. 6. 15.


Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. – Jn. 4. 21.


Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. – Jn. 4. 20.


So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. – Jn. 6. 19.


And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. – Jn. 6. 18.


And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea, – Jn. 6. 16.

(8) He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. Jn. 1.

[4] Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Jn. 15.

 42. ACTS – Incr- ease. 2 Chr. 32. 28.

Open me the places that are closed, and bring me forth the winds that in them are shut up, shew me the image of a voice: and then I will declare to thee the thing that thou labourest to know. 4 Ezra. 5. 37.

But the word of God grew and multiplied. Acts 12. 24.–And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. Acts 20. 32.–For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Acts 17. 28.–And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. Acts 24. 16.–And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. Acts 6. 7.–But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ. Acts 9. 22.–And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily. Acts 16. 5.

And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore. – Acts 27. 40.


And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. – Acts 27. 15.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. – Acts 2. 2.

Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day. – Acts 24. 21.

Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. – Acts 14. 10.

And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. – Acts 10. 13.

(8) Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead? Acts 26.

(2) Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Acts 6.

(4) But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. Acts 6.

[7] And all the men were about twelve. Acts 19.

[5] For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Acts 1.

 43. ROMANS – Agree. 1 Jn. 5. 8.


And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, Rv. 10. 5.


For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Rom. 1. 20.–Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Rom. 3. 13.–To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: Rom. 2. 7.–Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. Rom. 5. 12_14.–For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. 6. 23.–Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Rom. 6. 3.–Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Rom. 6. 6.


Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: – Rom. 9. 27.


For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. – Romans 8:13 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: – Rom. 2. 7.


For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. – Rom. 6. 23.


12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. –Rom. 5. 12_14.


But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) – Rom. 10. 6.


For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; – Rom. 1. 8.


(7) To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: Rom. 2.

[5] For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Rom. 6.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Cor. 10. 13.–But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. 1 Cor. 8. 6.–If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Cor. 3. 17.–Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 1 Cor. 3. 15.–What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. – 1 Cor. 15. 49.


The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. – 1 Cor. 15. 47.


For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) – 1 Cor. 8. 5.


But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. – 1 Cor. 6. 17.


But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. – 1 Cor. 2. 14.


For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. – 1 Cor. 2. 11.

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Eph. 4. 6_7.–For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: Eph. 5. 8.–But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. Eph. 5. 13_14.–For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Eph. 5. 30_32.–Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, – Eph. 5. 26.


But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. – Eph. 5. 13.


For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: – Eph. 5. 8.

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. – Eph. 2. 18.


Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: – Eph. 1. 21.

When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures. Jer. 10. 13.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: – Col. 1. 16.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: – Col. 1. 14_15.

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: – Col. 1. 12_13.

(7) Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Col. 2.

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. 1 Thes. 2. 13.–And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: 1 Thes. 3. 12.–For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: – 2 Thes. 3. 8.


That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. – 2 Thes. 2. 2.


Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. – 2 Thes. 3. 6.


And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2 Thes. 2. 10.–But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: – 2 Thes. 2. 13.


That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. – 2 Thes. 1. 12.


Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: – 2 Thes. 1. 11.

(7) For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 2 Thes. 2.

Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: Dt. 12. 2.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Tm. 3. 16.–For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1 Tm. 2. 5.–

Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 1 Tm. 6. 15.–For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Tm. 6. 10.–Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 2 Pt. 3. 12.

This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. – 1 Jn. 5. 6.


And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. – 1 Jn. 3. 24.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. – 1 Jn. 2. 15.

This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. 2 Jn. 6.–Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 2 Jn. 9.–Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. 2 Jn. 3.–If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 2 Jn. 10_11.

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 2 Jn. 1. 9.


For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. – 2 Jn. 1. 7.


And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. – 2 Jn. 1. 6.


And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. – 2 Jn. 1. 5.
